Description

All of the components used in construction of these Dukane 41C30 replacement transducers are all new, not recovered from scrapped units. These converters are made in a highly controlled and repeatable manner to duplicate the performance of the OEM models. The parts are made from certified materials in tightly controlled manufacturing processes, assembled and tested in a climate-controlled environment using carefully calibrated equipment, then properly aged and re-tested to ensure performance that duplicates the OEM part. The entire process is conducted in a ISO registered facility. Best of all, since the manufacturing process is so carefully controlled, durability is assured.

Our converters do not look like a Dukane 41C30 even though specifically designed to replace them. We note that many suppliers who copy Dukane’s appearance also use the 41C30 model designation, possibly to cause buyers to think they are getting a 41C30 made by Dukane. To our knowledge we offer the lowest-priced new replacement converters on the North American market and we have a no-discount policy. If our competitors are willing to discount to our price, what does that tell you about their price? Or about their business model?

We worked very hard to incorporate functional improvements to the OEM design to make these units more durable. We left no stone unturned to try to give you the best product anyone knows how to make. We are proud to make a unit that looks different and probably outperforms the OEM unit. As with replacement parts for automobiles, often the aftermarket part is much better and less expensive than the OEM part.

The standard Dukane 41C30 style transducer is not as well cooled as it could be because it uses the same housing as the press-mounted model intended for intermittent operation.  For press-mounted intermittent applications the large cooling holes at top and bottom of the housing wall and cooling holes in the top plug are the right way to do things.

CAUTION: IF YOU ARE RUNNING A 41C30 STYLE TRANSDUCER BUT NOT RUNNING COOLING AIR AT THE PROVIDED FITTING THE COOLING CAP MAY CAUSE YOUR TRANSDUCER TO ACTUALLY RUN HOTTER.  THERE IS NO WARRANTY ON AN OVERHEATED TRANSDUCER.

For continuous ultrasound operations the inclusion of the connector and air fitting on the standard 41C30 style transducer are necessary, but the use of compressed air to cool the source of heating within the transducer itself (the ceramics) is not very efficient  Most of the compressed air bounces off of the back of the rear driver slug and then finds its way out the upper row of side holes or the holes in the back plug (white plastic disc).

What the cooling cap does is cover the upper side holes and the holes in the back plug and forces all of the compressed air going into the housing to flow out the lower row of cooling holes ensuring contact between moving cooling air and the ceramics.  The cooling cap is made of PETG with a softening temperature of 80C.  If the cooling cap could somehow be heated by your transducer to 80C the ceramics have already de-poled and you no longer have a working transducer.

We are offering the cap as a no-cost upgrade to anyone who purchases a AM30122C (41C30 replacement) transducer.  The caps are also available for purchase to retrofit to transducers in the field that had been previously purchased without.

So you have a choice.  We could ship you the standard version or we could ship the version with the cooling cap installed.  IF YOU WANT THE COOLING CAP INSTALLED ON YOUR TRANSDUCER YOU MUST LET US KNOW ON YOUR ORDER.

We offer the same warranty as the OEM, namely, three years one-time replacement. Simply ship the broken unit back to arrive within three years of original shipment, and it will be replaced (one time) if the failure is the result of a defect in material or workmanship. See the warranty link below for the particulars.

High Pressure Silicone Ultrasonic Stack Grease
The function of grease in the joint is to: 1. Fill the microscopic valleys in the surface of the tooling to improve acoustic transfer from one component to the next. 2. Remain in the joint so the metal of the two pieces of tooling do not become "clad" together by the action of the ultrasound and thus impossible to disassemble. Never use grease and a polymer washer in the same joint.

20KHz Stack Vise for Ultrasonic Tooling
This stainless steel stack vise is designed specifically to clamp 20KHz converter front slugs and booster spanner "collars" during assembly or disassembly to reduce damage to expensive ultrasonic stack components. The vise features two clamping chambers, one for tooling 1.5" (38 mm) dia. and one for tooling 1.8" (46 mm) dia. The two-pin hinge design allows the upper jaw to "float" and seek the best clamp position on the tool for maximum contact. The securing bolt has a long lever handle that can be re-positioned out of the way once secured. The securing bolt can be completely removed so the upper vise jaw can be fully opened. The steel spanner-hole pins are set in stepped holes such that they can be driven out from the bottom of the vise should they ever need replacement.
