This Mid-Com monitor and keyboard is one of the last of the last of three monitor/keyboard pairs to be used with the Ultra-Com (43x-3xx) and DPCIII model Dukane ultrasonic welders.
This is a classic terminal setup with large-format serial port communications. Includes a keyboard with missing space bar (not something you’d use a lot in this application even if you had one) power cable, serial cable, extension keyboard cable.
There are many Ultra-Com (43x-3xx) and DPC units out there going back to the late 80s, but not many compatible terminals. The original Falco was an ideal fit because of the multi-page feature. When Falco went out of business a firmware-modified Sherwood terminal was used. When Sherwood went out of business, these firmware-modified Mid-Coms picked up the mantle and shipped through the end of the serial-port-era Dukane DPCIII ultrasonic welders in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
While the rest of the Dukane welder was built like industrial equipment for the shop environment, the terminals were built for an office environment and usually didn’t survive for more than five or seven years. This one is the exception to that rule.
We didn’t want to wreck it by cleaning it up too much. You are weldome to try to make it look better if you want to risk it.
So, if you’ve been looking for a working Dukane-compatible Falco, Sherwood or Mid-Com, here it is. You may never see another one.
